Empty plastic water bottles are all over the city of Tirana, Albania. Inescapable supply for a project of water towers, which started almost immediately from September, 2024 and is still going on. The embodiment of both industrial and natural elements fabricated into a product, the empty plastic water bottles, a ready-made element of aesthetic interest, evoke a social parallel.
Albania is a water-wealthy country. This natural resource is bottled for consumption, as if there is some sort of need for humans to create a necessary distance from direct contact with nature: A reminder of a permanent fabricated social order, bottled throughout the known history of the Albanian people. There's nothing wrong with the empty water bottles, so as there's nothing wrong with the discarded systems of social order of the Albanian people. There is a natural part, and a fabricated part of the story, which bring focus on humans and water, via the same channel of fabrication.
