Lula Motra

about the artist

Lula Motra with her work is on her contemplative quest. Meditative, labour-intense, obsessive, with richness in interpretation of her subject: Lula's drawings are an invitation of wonder, containing within itself desire and love of making. Transcendent feelings appear as images, intricate blocks of mark-making as traces of trails of thought. They are feelings, witnessed as a state of mind of solitary depths.

Lula resides in Volta Mantovana, Italy. Motra has no formal training, and is self-taught, an outsider artist.
